How Pawty Yoga is different
from the national chains
If you've looked at puppy yoga in Houston before, you've probably seen the touring chains — companies that pop in once a quarter from Dallas or Austin. Here's what's different about a class with us.
Local, not a chain
Founded in Memorial. Run by a Houstonian, for Houston families — not a brand parachuting in for one weekend a quarter.
Ethical breeders only
8–16 week-old puppies from breeder partners we've personally vetted. Every standard is published — read the checklist →
Capped at 20 mats
Real puppy time per person — not a 30-mat room with a wait. Most chains run 25–30; we hold the line at 20 on purpose.
Kids welcome
Family-friendly by design. Kids 5+ fully participate; younger kids welcome on a parent's mat. Not an afterthought.
Real venue, real floor
Fred Astaire Dance Studio's sprung floor in the Memorial Area — easier on knees than the carpet rooms most pop-ups use.
$60 all-in
No add-ons, no upsells, no surprise fees. The $60 you book is the $60 you pay. Phones & cameras welcome — bring whatever captures the day.

Houston-born, puppy-powered,
built with intention
Pawty Yoga was born from a simple idea: bring together two things that make people genuinely happy — puppies and movement — and create an experience people in Houston can actually look forward to on a weekend.
We're a small, Houston-based team building something we care deeply about. Every detail — the puppies we source, the venue we chose, the way sessions are run — is intentional. We're not trying to be the biggest puppy yoga brand. We're trying to be the best one in the room.
Our first event is coming this summer and we couldn't be more excited to share it with Houston.

What is puppy yoga,
and why is everyone talking about it?
Puppy yoga is exactly what it sounds like: a gentle, beginner-friendly yoga class with adorable puppies wandering the room. You stretch, breathe, hold a soft pose — and somewhere in the middle, a puppy decides your mat is the best place in the world to take a nap. That's the whole pitch, and it works because it pairs two of the most reliable feel-good experiences anyone has ever invented (yoga and puppies) into one 75-minute window.
It originated as a wellness format about a decade ago and has since become one of the most popular experiential events in cities that finally got tired of brunches and escape rooms. Houston was overdue. Pawty Yoga is the city's first dedicated puppy yoga experience — a real studio space, professionally run sessions, puppies from vetted ethical breeders,.
Is puppy yoga safe?
Yes — when it's run properly. At Pawty Yoga, every puppy comes from an ethical breeder partner we've personally vetted, is current on age-appropriate vaccinations, and is only invited to sessions if they're comfortable in social environments. Handlers are present the entire class to manage interactions, and the studio is cleaned between every session. Kids and seniors join the same classes adults do; the format is gentle on both ends of the age range.
Do I need yoga experience to come?
Not at all. The flow is built for absolute beginners — no balance poses you've never done, no Sanskrit you have to learn, no judgment if you spend half the class on the floor petting a puppy instead of holding a pose. If you've never been to a yoga class in your life, you'll be fine. If you're a regular at a power yoga studio, expect to slow down and enjoy it.
What should I bring (and wear)?
A mat if you have one (we have spares), a water bottle, and clothes you'd wear to a normal yoga class — leggings, soft tees, athleisure. Skip the brand-new white pants. Skip strong perfumes (puppies have sensitive noses). Phones and cameras are welcome — taking photos is part of the fun. Capture the moments freely throughout the 75 minutes.
How is this different from goat yoga or cat yoga?
Goat yoga is rural by nature — barn settings, hooves on mats, lots of room. Cat yoga is calmer (cats are cats; they nap). Puppy yoga sits in the middle: indoor, social, energetic in bursts, and the puppies actually engage with you. It's also the only one of the three where the animals are routinely available for adoption afterward, which means a lot of guests leave the class thinking about taking one home.
Are the puppies adoptable?
The breeders we partner with screen prospective families carefully before placing puppies. We're not a placement service ourselves — but if you fall for a puppy during a session and might be a good fit, we're happy to connect you with our breeder partner. The breeder runs all placements directly using their own screening process.
Why Houston was overdue
for a puppy yoga studio
Houston has more dog-friendly cafés per capita than most US cities its size. It also has one of the fastest-growing wellness scenes in Texas — yoga studios on every other block in the Heights, climbing gyms in EaDo, group-fitness on Sawyer Heights. And yet, until Pawty Yoga, there was no real puppy yoga experience anywhere in the city. Reviewers searching for "puppy yoga Houston" kept landing on national chains' city pages — companies running pop-ups in Dallas, Austin, and San Antonio that visited Houston once a quarter, charged premium prices, and disappeared.
We're a Houston-based studio, run by Houstonians, partnered with vetted ethical breeders. Sessions happen in the Memorial Area at Fred Astaire Dance Studio — a polished sprung-floor space that's already a local fixture. We host families from Memorial, Spring Branch, the Heights, River Oaks, the Energy Corridor, the Galleria, Bellaire & West U, Downtown & Midtown, Katy & Sugar Land, The Woodlands, Cypress, and Pearland — and we host private events anywhere in the metro area.
If you've been looking for something to do with friends, family, or a team that isn't another brunch, another rooftop, or another escape room — this is exactly that. Beginner-friendly, social, photogenic, and the only thing you'll do this month that ends with a puppy asleep on your shins.
